The book is about Martin who lives in london with his family and friends. It starts with the last lesson on the springterm. When the klock rings out he and his friends Mark, Mathew and his girlfriend Natalie walks home togethur after a quite embaressing scene on the school yard. In the evening Martin meets upp with Mark and Mathew and they go to the carneval that is in town. At the carneval there is a lot of coops as if something was going to happen. Martin used that to play a trick on one of the cops. He walked forward to a cop and said that there was a man with a gun. That is a typikal example of Martins personality, he is a little bit crasy. Mark Martin and Mathew call themselfs the gang of three. Mathew is the total opposit to Martin and Mark is a little bit of bouth.

One night they went to a club, Dancemania, beacuse they got a tip from three jamaican girls. When they come to the club they met the jamaican girls. They sat in a corner an tried to talk to eatchother but the music was laud so they danced and have fun instead of talking to eachother.
When the gang of three and Natalie had left the club and walked natalie home a car stoped infront of them. The lads in the car was Peter from their old school and some one called Apache. They offered a lift home but Mathew was doubtfull and walked home alone, Martin and Mark jumped in the car, but they didn´t get a lift hom beacuse the polise chased them, The car was stolen!!!. The car crashed and Mark gets out but Martin got stucked in the car and the car exploaded. He woke up in the hospital 4 days later with burn injurys in his face and skars on his leg. He felt realy bad beacuse his friend couldn´t look him in the eys. His girlfriend cheat on him and Mark left him and Mathew is seeing new friends.He met a new friend at the hospital his name was Anthony he did allso have burn injurys in his face and Martin admired him for his currage to show him self in publik. When he started school he got in a fight beacuse a guy in his klass called him sick. He had to kontrol his temper. He began in the gymnastik team and became the captain of the team and there was a competition coming up, but just before the competition some small kids call him monster and he got really sad beacuse young kids allways say wat they think. And when he walked home he saw Natalie messing with some other guy and he got a real breakdown. But one day before the gymnastik competition he went bak to the ho...
