So… What is it about?
Ben Ross, an overenthusiastic history teacher that is supposed learn his seniorsstudents about the second world war. Instead of boring old lessons he starts up a project called the Wave to show them how easy it is to get caught up in something stupid without realizing it yourself. The wave is a group, which is very similar to the nazi-movement. Their motto is “Strength Through Discipline!”
“Strength Through Community!”
“Strength Through Action!”, and these three things are all keywords in The wave. If you don’t do what the leader tells you, or make any efforts to get out, you will be punished. Ben thinks he has his students under control, but they get more and more carried away and more and more students join in the group. Students that aren’t a part of the wave are getting beat up in school, and the main character of the book, Laurie Saunders, gets dumped by her boyfriend because of the wave. She realizes that something has to be done…Before it’s too late! The consequences will be terrible unless Ben and Laurie stop the monster that Ben has created.

It ain’t gonna’ happen!” I recommend everyone to read the book, and not just because they should learn something about nazi’s and how it can get to you, but because it’s a great book that really captures the reader. So all you kids out there who hasn’t read this book yet, go out and get it! ...
