New Zealand is in the South Pacific Ocean. The North Island and the South Island are the two major land masses, the next largest is Stewart Island, which lies directly beneath the South Island. The North Island has a number of large volcanoes and highly active thermal areas, while the South Island boasts the Southern Alps - a spine of magnificent mountains running almost its entire length. Another notable feature of New Zealand is its many rivers and lakes.
New Zealand is a country of rare beauty, glacial mountains, long rivers, deep clear lakes and hissing geysers. There are also forest reserves, long deserted beaches and a variety of fauna, such as the kiwi.
When I visit New Zealand I was amazed over the beautiful scenery and the spectacular nature. One special thing about the country is that it can change climate in just some hours, you can travel one day and see all the four seasons. I myself discovered this when I travel through the South Island.
One thing why I wanted to visit New Zeeland was the fact that it was here the film “The Lord of the Ring” was made.
Ever since Peter Jackson made his astonishing LOTR film trilogy, this has become the place that millions recognize as the living reflection of J.R.R. Tolkien´s imaginary world. The vast, wild beauty of the landscape stars in the movies as much as it does in the books and it won the price “best supporting country” by the New Zealand tourists.
Many people have dreamed about Middle Earth. In New Zealand you experience the dream and it become reality. Walk in the footsteps of characters and it’s easy to imagine that...
