Society has main issues. One of these issues is energy, which makes society function, as energy use for us is necessary in everydaylife. Energy has different functions and different types. One of them is energy related with air that evloves around the top of the surface of the earth, which is called wind power. The work of the wind has been used as early as 2800 B.C. by the Egyptians, and is today used by us. An example of a device using wind power could be a windmill which is estimated to have come into being at approximately the 600’s. Another example of a device using windpower but that we use today at our time now could be a wind turbine, which run electric powe generators with the use of rotational kinetic energy. Today we use this energy for heat, cold, light and movement, but the running shortage of energy is becoming a huge problem.
Wind power has no harmful air emissions and it neither consumes nor pollutes water (American Wind Energy Assocation, 2002). Even though wind power in America is climbing up for improvement, according to the same text – the American Wind Energy Association (2002) nations in Europe are capturing the wind use more aggressively than the U.S. This means that Europe’s environmental issues are forcing the principle of energy more efficiently in Europe, with exceptions to Denmark, Germany and Spain that progress their developing of producing industries.
Our use of energy expands as we discover new technologies which we use more often. This is though becoming a problem since 98% of the energy is extracted layers of oil, gas and coal, which according to the text “I Simmar I Ren Energi” has taken the earth millions of years to build up. Of these, only coal will last for hundreds of years. This is the reason why it’s suggested for us to start using the natural energy resources such as sun, wind and water. The suggestion is taken up because of the fact that these resources are endless – they don’t extinct. Although, the price for this use of energy is fairly high. The very confident scientists are intending that these natural resources might replace the fossil fuels within 20 years. Even the EU (European Union) wants to agree on covering 12& of the energy use to recycled energy forms within ten years time (Illustrerad Vetenskap, 2001)

Nevertheless there are concerns about this issue anyway. The arguments touch bases such as the financial issue of wind power, that wind power production won’t be as effective and that the energy of wind power production won’t reach the same amount of energy manufactured. Other bases of concern relate to limitations of the factors and danger. The opponents argue that animals such as birds live in danger because of the moving blades of wind turbines. Other objections are more slight, such as the “unpleasant view” or the “too loud noise”.


CONCLUSION

Wind power seems to be a decent solution and touches important functions of society. The use of natrual resources, with no risk for extinction could actually save the earth from harm and extincted other resources such as oil, gas and coal. These three main resouces are necessary and we cannot exploit them, neither can we risk to misplace them. Wind power has been a natural method of gaining energy, with no use of fossil fuels. This is a remarkable way of reducing the greenhouse effect, as well as the use of fossil fuels. The price is worth it – money is not as important as the distinction of oil, gas and coal. We need these resources for other purposes that can develop our modern society into a more useful and more appreciated one. Therefore, authority to the wind power and away with this use of fossil fuels!
