My old female idol has always been the same, since I saw The Phantom 1996. Where she acts the evil female pilot Sara how works for the even more evil Xander Drax, but in the end she gets converted and helps the phantom to victory against the powers of evil. Yes, that is correct the girl I´m talking about are Catherine Zeta-Jones (CZJ) the girl of many boys dream, the tall brunette how with the most beautiful smile took the world whit storm in the 90´s and she is now, 35 years old one of our times greatest actress.

CZJ (Catherine Fair and Zeta Jones being the names of her grandmothers) was born in Swansea the 25th of September, 1969. Her mother, Pat, was Irish and a seamstress (sömmerska) by trade. Her first comment after Catherine´s birth was that she looked like a frog. Catherine had one older brother, David A Jones, and one younger, Lyndon.

From the age of 4, Catherine wanted to entertain, to be the centre of attention. She´d flounce around using the spout of her grandma´s kettle as a microphone. Very soon, she was onstage, performing with an amateur troupe organised by the local Catholic Church. Her singing voice, though, was once severely endangered. She was falling sick with a viral infection that impaired her breathing, she had to undergo a tracheotomy (the scar is still visible today). As a result, she missed a lot of school, and was sent to a small private institution to catch up with here friends.
She sometimes says that even at 12 she looked 22, maybe her good looks have helped here getting were she are today(?)


At the age of 14, her first break came. A film starring Mickey Dolenz from The Monkees (old rock group), one of its attractions were that: wherever it went, it picked up local children to form the chorus. Catherine auditioned successfully, very successfully, so successfully that the producers quickly cast her in a touring production of The Pyjama Game. By 15, she had dropped out of school, received her Actor´s club card, and moved to London.

After that movies with Catherine have almost been coming like a floating river. She have been starring movies with celebrities like: Richard Gere, George Clooney, René Zellwegger, Billy Zane,...
