Knowledge mediation and power distribution are common subjects in everyday life. In school knowledge and learning are keywords for the activity, while on the other hand industries have production and benefits as major subjects. Despite these differences between school and industry they both can be discribed as learning organizations. This could be made to facilitate a gaining of knowledge in effort to understand the phenomenas knowledge mediation and power distribution within these organizations. The main purpose is to see the connection between knowledge mediation and power distribution and how it appears at an industry. As subjects such as production and benefits are first-mentioned while discussing improvements within industries, it is easy to disregard the fact that there are people working there. To investigate the purpose, we visited an industry for two weeks and by using active observation as method we gathered information regarding the purpose. The observation revealed a close connection between knowledge and power. A certain kind of knowledge gives the power to influence the organization, thereby knowledge and power are equals. There was a difference in knowledge between different groups at the industry. Some thought that by learning as much as possible about the production, you achive promotion, while some thought that your social skills together with knowledge about the production will lead to promotion.
