About discipline

If I look up the word “discipline” in a dictionary it shows Swedish words like: disciplin, skolning, fostra, ordning and bestraffning. I have decided to interpret “discipline” as “bestraffning”. I think that discipline in class is not necessary. Nowadays it’s not accepted for teachers to hit children. I think it’s unacceptable to hit children because there are other ways to make the kids understand that it’s serious and they have done wrong. Children learn even more in a safe environment where there are no physical violence. The teacher should use other psychological methods, where they don’t scare the child. It’s only important to make clear lines about what’s right and what’s wrong. A safe and happy student learn more than a scared and sad student, it’s as simply as that. When the students are a little bit older, like my age; eighteen, they should know better and should not even do things so the teacher even have to think about discipline and punishing.
