The drama at Norrmalmstorg

Norrmalmstorgsdrama as we say in Sweden is the story about a very dramatic robbery that took place the 23th of august in 1973. A prisoner named Jan Erik Olsson went on leave in to the big bank at Normalmstorg in Stockholm City. Jan Erik, as at this time was unidentified took three women and a man from the staff as hostage. Police were summoned immediate and went in to the bank but was forced back by Olsson who threatened them with a machine gun which he also shot one of the polices with in his hand. Jan Erik Olsson gave the police a list with things he wanted, else he'd start killing he said. First on the list was Jan Erik's friend Clark Olofsson who also was a prisoner. He also wanted three million Swedish kroner, bullet-proof west's, a helmet and a gun each and a car to escape in. Olofsson were picked up at the prison in Norrköping and brought to the bank. On her way in he found another staff member who he bough to the vault where Jan Erik Olsson and the other hostages were located. Two policemen's managed to get in and look the door to the vault. Three days later they made a couple of holes in the roof of the vault. First to bring down a camera and then, two days after that they tried to spray sleeping gas into the holes. Olsson and Olofsson started to shot through the holes and managed to hit a cop in his hand and in his face. They also forced the hostages to stand against the walls with strings around their necks so that they would get strangled if the police prayed sleeping gas in to the holes. Olsson, Olofson and two hostages spoke to the former president Olof Palme. A hostage, Kerstin Enmark asked him if it really mattered if she died here or in a bush. Olof Palme said to her that he...
