Pay it forward is a book & movie, but also an IDEA.

The book written by Catherine Ryan Hyde and the movie is based on the book is about how a 12-year old boy, by a simple idea is changing the world.

Everything in the civic life of the teacher Eugene Simonets is in order. Each pen, each shirt is on its site. Eugene is a rather closed in person. He has built up a shell script that prevents the people in the surrounding area to get him too close. Until now there has been no problem.  Arlene McKinney is a single mother and an alcoholic. She has two jobs and at the same time trying to give his son Trevor a better life than she had. Eugene gives Trevor`s class an assignment: Look around you - and change what you don´t like to see.

He has given to this task to every single seventh grade in twelve years, and he expects that this will not be different than last years. He hopes, but he expects that none of the students to take up the task.  He is a teacher who provides students with hope. Perhaps because he has lost all hope for him.  But this year takes one of the students to the task. Trevor takes it seriously because his own life is so problematic. He has grown up without a father, the mother works constantly and often he may take care of himself. He had to grow up much earlier than other children of his age. He needs the hope in his life, and he gets it by Eugene.  Trevor loves his mother and would like her to solve their problems, but know that she cannot do it alone.

Could she, she would have done it long ago. Trevor gets inspiration from the social study classes. Eugene is a different teacher. He doesn´t just say: Okay class, let's open the books, page 1 and answer the questions at the bottom. He speaks to the class, from the heart. He teaches them that social studies are about themselves, and the world. He says that it is possible for one person to change the world.

Trevor comes up with the idea of Pay It Forward. It is something he can believe in. He believes it will be able to improve his own life. His idea is "to do something for someone who cannot do it on his own." It goes up on that: "if any did you a service, something great, something you could not do yourself, and instead of repaying, he sends you on to three people. And the next day sends each of them to three. And then send each of these 27 to even three. And if everyone, every day, in turn, passes on to "their" three ... is two weeks that comes to 4.782.969 persons.

Eugene sees itself in Trevor. He sees what he once was and what he could have become. Protective wall he has built up successful Trevor constantly destroy. He sees past Eugene scars, he sees him for what he is.

Trevor first objective is his mother and his teacher and may also itself. He is looking for a father, a stable home. One of the three things he does is to gather Eugene and his mother. But initially, doesn't this seem work. When he takes home a homeless man from the street understands the mother "power" in Trevor's plan. And trying to understand him, she turns to Eugene.  Everyone in the movie is in one way outsiders. They have lost faith in the world and society. There are two main stories taking place. One where the reporter Chris Chandler is trying to find the one that started the Pay it Forward by interviewing people who have paid it forward. The second story is the resulting Trevor´s life and attempt to Pay it Forward to help people.

Catherine Ryan Hyde the writer got the inspiration for the book after she has been involved in a car accident. Two men had dragged her out of the car and put out the burning engine and. They had risked their own life for her -just a stranger. The rescued her car and probably also her life. When she wanted to thank them, they were already missing. After she had been walking around trying to figure on how she could find and thank them and repay them in some way. Instead she could make a good act for anyone who needed help.  Her own Pay It Forward was when another woman's car had broken down and she had stop...
