His relationships with his parents were strange. He praised his father as a god, but his mother was just one of many peoples in the castle.
When he became a teenager his parents thought it would be time to select a wife for him. They didn’t want to decide completely for Hamlet so they picked out ten girls from the kingdom and brought them to the castle. Then Hamlet would have to choose between all the girls, which wasn’t easy. All the girls had been picked for their looks and their ability to be a good wife to the future king. This ability was to accept everything the king decided and did, even if it meant that he was unfaithful.
Hamlet didn’t like this so he decided not to please his parents. He picked the girl that he found most interesting and who seemed to like him too. The choice fell on Ophelia.
The king and queen couldn’t accept this so they made Ophelia’s father to the king’s advisor. Now everybody was happy.
This was little about his history, but now some about the look and behaviour.
Hamlet is always well dressed because he has his rumour to think about. He is very polite to all persons he meet but those who know him knows another side. He can be very snappish and impolite. He is always in a bad mood in the mornings and yells at anybody who disturbs him.
But he isn’t all that bad. He can be nice and happy. He is deeply in love with Ophelia and respects her over anything else. Animals and children’s is two of the things he love.
He is very thin and weak. If it wouldn’t have been for his education in fighting he wouldn’t have had a chance against Leartes.
Since his father died he has been very introverted and been acting circumspection.
