The Selfish Giant

In the garden all the children had gatherd to buy, sell and just look around for things that they needed. They traded with each other without any conversations what so ever. They had a ”leader”, it was the giant. He was the one that keept an ”eye” on everything. He didn´t want any trouble in his garden so he ruled it with an iron fist. But the children didn´t stand up against him because they knew, that it would only come down on themselfs again, and if so, twice as hard. The giant had been the leader for sometime and found it very unsatisfaing to only rule the garden, he wanted more. He set out for more land and found it. He took what he tought was enough. The children that really didn´t wanted this had no influence at all, and they who did stand up against the giant, they were never to be heard of again.
But one day a child managed to escape from the garden. He crossed many lands, swimmed over many lakes and finaly he came to a place that he belived would bring peace to his life.
The child settled down in the new garden and made some new friends. He became very trusting towards these new children and started to share his life story with them. He told them about his old life, about the giant and about the children who was to afraid of him to do anything about thier situation.
The new children one day sat down togheter to discuss what they had heard of the child. ”This cant go on longer”, one said. ”But is this any buisness of ours?”, another one replyed. ”We can´t just sit down not doing anything about it”. ”How come we never heard of this before?”, if we are to trust this child and what he is saying we have to go deeper in this situation”.
So they decided that a small group would set out for the garden where they child came from. They traveled for many days but never found it. Thay were about to give up when they finaly saw a small house in the end of a big dark garden. They enterd and what the were about to see was very chocking. There were children that looked so unhappy that you couldn´t imagine. There were no lights at all and no warm feelings about the place whatsoever. The little boy approched a child and asked: ”What is this place?”, where is everyone from and who..” The giant came running. ”Who are you and what buisness have you in my garden. ”I´m here to take this children with me”. ”I can not let you do so”, the giant said. ”I´m afraid that you have no choice”, the little boy said. The giant became very angry and attacked the little boy. But the little buy was quick and jumped away as he swung his sword at the giant. The giant sighed very heavely and then he fell to the ground. The other children became very upset at first but when they realised that they were free from the giants dominating they were very happy but also a bit uncertain. ”What shall we do now?”, they asked the little boy. ”You can all come and live with me in my garden”. There is more than enough room for everyone. And the children followed the little boy to his garden and there they felt happiness again, a feeling they thought they wouldn´t feel once more.

I picked this story to rewrite because iI think it can meen so many things.
It can represent almost all kind of situations.
I chose to write my story in a way that represented the family situation. In this case it is a story about children that are stuck at a fosterhome with a step parent who doesn´t treat them with the respect.
The giant represents the step parent. The other children, represens the children at the fosterhome. The garden is the home/ house that they are living in. And finaly the little boy represents the ...
