New Jersey is United States 18th biggest state. New Jersey is located south of New York, north of Delaware, east of Pennsylvania and west of the Atlantic Ocean. The population is 8,9 millions inhabitants. New Jersey is the most densely populated state in whole USA. Many tourists visit New Jersey because of Atlantic City and because it’s close to New York City. In Atlantic City there are many casinos. New Jersey is a shopping state. There are many big malls where you can shop. The governors name is Jon Corunize. New Jersey has many ghettos and the criminality is high. The capital of New Jersey is Trenton. Eight cities in New Jersey are bigger than Trenton. The highest point you can go in New Jersey is 550 meters. New Jersey has two big universities, Princeton University and Rutgers University. Princeton is one of United States most famous private universities. Rutgers University is New Jerseys biggest university.

Cities
In New Jersey more than four cities have a population of 100.000 and more. Newark is the biggest. Newark is situated 8 km west of Manhattan. You can fly direct to Newark Liberty international airport from Stockholm with SAS and Continental airlines. Jersey City is the second biggest city in New Jersey. Jersey City belongs to the New York City area. Hudson River is in between Manhattan and Jersey City. You can go direct from Jersey City to the Statue of Liberty with boat. Paterson is the third biggest city in New Jersey. Paterson is 33 km from Manhattan. The city is famous because of the silk industry. Elizabeth is New Jerseys fourth biggest city. Elizabeth is 24 km from New York City. The container harbour in Elizabeth is one of the biggest container harbours in the world. Trenton is the capital of New Jersey. Trenton is a medium sized city with 85 400 habitants. Atlantic City is New Jerseys Las Vegas. In Atlantic City live 40.000 persons. Atlantic City has nearly the same number of inhabitants as Skövde.

New Jersey has two teams in the biggest leagues in USA. There are New Jersey Devils and New Jersey Nets. New Jersey Devils plays hockey in NHL and New Jersey Nets plays basket in NBA. New Jersey Nets plays in Continental airlines Arena. 20 084 persons can watch a basket game in Continental airlines Arena at the same time. New Jersey Nets has never won NBA. New Jersey Devils plays in Prudential center. Prudential center is located in Newark. Prudential center is NHLs most modern arena. 17625 can watch a hockey game in Prudential center at the same time. 1995, 2000 and 2003 has New Jersey Devils won the Stanley cup. Johnny Oduya and Nicklas Bergfors are two Swedish players who play in New Jersey Devils now.

Because New Jersey is situated by the side of the Atlantic Ocean it will often rain there. At the winter is the temperature about 2°C. At the spring is the temperature about 10-12°C.
