I have been reading Dark Winter, a book written by Andy McNab. The main character in the book is Nick Stone, a man that works for a company trying to prevent terrorism. He works together with a woman that is pregnant.

The book begins with Nick and his colleague on a mission to assassinate a chemist, without knowing anything of what the chemist have done. After he does that, he is ordered back to London where he is expected to locate terror groups and eliminate them. Later in the storyline, he discovers that a virus called Dark Winter is in the hands of the terrorists, which are planning to use it on large cities as New York, London and Berlin. When he discovers that his stepdaughter has been kidnapped, he’ll have to “Face the ultimate trade-off, the life of someone he lives, against those of millions he doesn’t even know”

The Author:

Andy McNab (which isn’t his real name, he hasn’t made the real name available to the public) has written many books, some fiction and one non-fiction. The best thing about his books is that he’s got experience. Other authors have to look for information; he’s actually been on the field, as he used to be in the British Army. This makes it possible for him to bring a lot of reality into the books. I love that about the book. It gives a special feeling that the author knew what he was writing, not that he was stealing it from the web or just made it up.

The Characters:

Nick Stone and all the characters in the book are expertly designed. The way that McNab introduces them makes you think you know them. You get to see all sides of them. If he would only let the readers see his work, then everyone would think that he was an insensitive idiot, but he chose to let the readers see every side of him. We got to see a hard side of him, and also a sort of family life. That kind of stuff makes books perfect, and McNab has made my top 10 list for authors. The way that he writes and describes the characters is so cool. He can make someone so serious that you can think that the guy can nuke the whole world without even thinking about it, and two seconds later you’ll think that he wouldn’t hurt a fly. I can’t find a word that could describe McNab, except that I can say that the book is revolutionizing!

The Small Facts:

McNab makes the small stuff important. Actually, everything matters. No matter how small it may be, it still matters. That’s why McNab made such a good book. He made the characters perfect, he described everything that you could describe and even more! There wasn’t that much violence in the book, but he made it look violent! Other authors would just write that ten people shot each other, while McNab describes every bullet that goes through the air, so that you know what happened, and that you can enjoy it!

If I need to say one thing to d...
