Three men and a boat is a quite original book. The book plot is about three men who decide that they should take a boat trip down the Thames. The three men are George, Harris and the storyteller, also named “J”, and a dog, Montmorency. The rent a boat, and after many discussion they set of along the river.

The book is mostly about the three men telling stories from their lives and others. But you can also follow their journey as it goes by. Some quite interesting things take place actually as it passes by. But most part of the stories comes from their memory.

Some of the stories are very amusing. For example the one time when “J” happen to fall into the water and then by accident happen to drop his shirt the same way. All this is very amusing to George, until he discover that it really is his shirt, then he does not finds it so amusing longer. But now the amusing part has turned to “J”, and he laughs for a long time.

I think that the book was a very nice book. It was amusing to read all the stories and hear them brag about their successes and hear their mistakes from the others. -“I did it!”

This is all very confusing to the men. The men who answer has made an bigger effort then the other one who just boast about the hard struggle with the fish. It all ends up when George happen to fall over the fish when accidentally drags it down when he is trying to get a closer look on the fish. The fish turns out to be from Paris.

The book contains many stories that it sometimes feels more like many short stories than a book. But they all are very nice to read and I really enjoyed it. I can recommend it, but you have to really concentrate on the book to follow its turns and leads. I was sometimes lacking my concentration but I think I managed to get the main part clear to me. The language was not the easiest I have read, but it was not a p...
