Don Henrie

I have chosen to write about a special person named Don Henrie also known as "The Vampire Don". As you perhaps have noticed he is mostly known for being a "real" vampire. But what is really a vampire? Does he drink blood and is he pale white? Is he perhaps evil? There are many sorts of vampires and people disagree often about this subject, if there are vampires out there in the world and if so what are they capable of doing. Well my purpose of writing this paper is not to convince you to believe in vampires and the vampire culture, only to educate and give you a new image of how a life is lived by another human been, something that I think is very interesting. The vampire Don's birth name is actually Don Henrie , he comes from San Diego, California but is originally welsh and Japanese.  Some people say he is a real, live vampire, well judge for yourself:    He sleeps all day in a coffin and had his teeth filed like vampires.  He drinks human blood and do rituals. But all of those things can be explained. For instance in a intervjue a reporter asked him why he sleeps in a coffin and he reveled that he liked the "sensory deprivation" it gives him and it's hard for him to get a good night sleep so the coffin helps. But also that he has a condition called fibromyalgia, meaning muscle pain even for a gentle touch. His skin is pale white because he prefers to stay away from sunlight as he suffers from sun poisoning. He believes in the ability to obtain energy from people by drinking their blood and what he calls manifestation. Though Don is a very skinny guy, he almost weights 56 kilos he can carry very heavy weights. In the same intervjue he tells the reporter about his transformation to being a vampire. It didn't happen in one day it took many, many years to find himself and it all started when he moved out from his parents house, he said it gave him some self-realization. He also explained that through life you'll drawn towards certain people and you will learn about their culture and maybe even live it yourself, vampirism is even like a faith actually. But there isn't always vampires who likes to dress like Don (black and scary), No there is actually many "ordinary" people who believe and live the vampire culture. It could be your next door neighbor, your doctor or even your teacher. There are plenty of people who are scared of Don if you ask himself. Some people's reaction towards him is even violent on the streets. And usually when he nods at someone they don't reply. He thinks it's a lack of courtesy, "it's all down to prejudice!"  He says. But he can't spend the time trying to educate people, so he rather keeps in his own circle. I picked to write about Don Henrie because I thought he was a very interesting and special man, but also very intelligent. If you ask me the scariest people are the intelligent ones who pick to do something unordinary, like Don. You would ask yourself how a man that smart could do something so rare and kind of weird. Even if it is scary I think these unordinary stuff is healthy for the human race. We always seem to surprise our selves of our imagination and potential of doing something out of the box and that's how we grow as a human been. And if you think what Don Henrie believes in is bad you can always remind yourself that we need both bad and good things in this world to show us what the right thing is. I don't really know if I believe in vampires but Don is well, as close as you can get.                                                                                                                                                                                                           &n...
