Not to wear School uniforms in school

School uniforms have long been discussed. To wear or not to wear has been questioned for long periods. Will it stop bullying and segregation or not? Can the students be nicer to each other? I think that school uniforms should be avoided as it is AGAINST our freedom of expression.

Our country's priority is to comply with the Freedom of Expression Act. It is one of Sweden’s constitutions.  You can dress as you want and how you want without any person having to express themselves in any way. Therefore, I think that if you introduce School Uniforms, it would violate the law of freedom of expression. School uniforms imprison us in the same clothing for 10 long years. And we can then not be who we want to be and we can then not express ourselves in the way we want. We are simply imprisoned in a colorless box.

I consider that uniforms will not stop bullying and will not stop the different groups and the segregation because we have seen that it doesn’t. In different countries for example U.S.A or U.K where uniforms are a part of the schools, the segregation is still there. In fact, those countries have a higher percentage of bullying in school then what we have here in Sweden. So the school uniforms do not prevent bullying and segregation.

But certainly, the uniforms can make it easier to choose clothes every day. And you don’t have to buy new clothes as much. But what about your personal identity? That will be taken away from you.

School uniforms are not the solution, it is just a stupid idea. What will be considered next if the bullying doesn’t stop?  Will they introduce school hairstyles? That you can choose between a couple of...
