Future Eden is one of the strangest books I ever had read. In the beginning of the book the reader meets one of the leading figures Jay. Jay is a 22years old boy that have lived bigger parts of his life alone, no not all alone he lived with his chickens. We meets him year 2287, nearly all of the people on earth have died in the illness Aids. One day he decides to leave the roof he have lived on hole his life, he have made an own generator that’s takes the elevator down. He takes the most important things with him, and of some reason he takes the only chicken that don’t had jump down from the roof. On the way down in the elevator its generator brakes in some way. In that moment the chicken starts to talk to Jay, he gets of curse very surprised and totally forgets that his life was in danger. After a wild he had learned a little bit about the chicken, for example that she can read his thoughts, that she is from a planet far, far away, that she has been on earth sins the time of the dinosaurs and that her name is Eathel. The book is very tedious in the start but after the first hundred pages it begins to be good, before that they starting to go out of the town. On the way out Eathel creates Jays dream girl, he puts her in a house that’s looks like a ruin so Jay can save her. The also meats the Oracle that’s lives in the shape of a fish, other legends they meats on the journey is for example. The great wizard Merlin, they meet King Arthur and his knights in the shape of reflections in a floor in the legendary and magic castle Camelot to. On there journey they also meets a lot of problems. In the end of the book they all goes in a spaceship back to Eathel’s home planet Morphine.
This book is good but not more then that, it’s very strange and hard to understand. This book is perfect to the one that’s like to read odd books, I do it for normal but this is an exception. I don’t really do enjoy to read it, I have more make me read it. But I shouldn’t just be critical to it, it has its bright times to for example it have much “odd” humor in it to.
I give this Future Eden of Colin Thomson two books of five possible. That low certificate is because Colin has done it to long with to little things in it. If he starts to write about one thing he writs about that thing in maybe ten to twenty pages if ...
