Ernesto ”Che” Guevara

Ernesto Guevara was a Cuban revolutionary in the 19th century.
His interest in politics arose when he went on a trip with Ricardo Rojo.
He died 9 October 1967. This year it is 40 years since he died.


Childhood

Ernesto Guevara was born 14 of may 1928 in Argentina.
His family was of Spanish and Irish blood.
He was the eldest of five children.
He suffered from asthma from the age of two. Despite this, he was a good athlete.
At the age of twenty he began studying medicine in Buenos Aires.
After four years in university (1952), he took a break to travel with his friend Ricardo Rojo.
They went by motorbike to Chile, rode a raft on the Amazon and flew to Florida.

Cool to know Ricardo Rojo wrote the book “My friend Che”.

Hilda Gadea (1953)

1953 he got his exam.
Now he was a doctor.
Che left Argentina as quick as he could.
He went to Guatemala and Peru there he met his first wife Hilda Gadea,
She was pretty much in to politics and that inspired Che very much.
1954 they married and 1956 they got there first baby Hilda Beatriz, also called Hildita
1959 Che told Hilda that he was in love with a girl from the guerrilla (Aleida March)
They divorced in May that same year


Aleida March

When Che and Aledia met for the first time it wasn’t love at first sight.
Aledia was a 24 years old blond pretty looking girl sent from Santa Clara to Che’s base.
During the time she was there a love between them grew.
One night when she couldn’t sleep she went out side and then Che came driving in his jeep and asked if she wouldn’t mind to come on a attack whit him and she jumped in to the seat next to him.
After Che’s death she married some dude exactly as Che wanted.



Fidel Castro

Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz is his full name.
He was born August 13, 1926 in Cuba
Is now president of Cuba.

Che and Fidel meet in Mexico

1955 Che abounded from Guatemala by CIA, but he tries to get asylum at the Argentines abased. He stayed there until he could fly to Mexico.
When he got to Mexico he meet Fidel and his brother Raul.
Fidel had a plan to overthrow the Dictator of Cuba (Fulgencio Batista).
Che agreed to go on the overthrow with Fidel as a doctor.
The overthrow succeeded and dictatorship fell. 1959 Castro took the title prime minister.
Che became [kommendant] and Cuban citizent.

Last days of Che’s life

Lunch time the attack has began and the is half hidden by a cliff.
Che was shouting with his M-2 machine gun, but the weapon was soon hit by a bullet and became useless.
And the magazine to his gun was already empty so he was unarmed.
A second bulled got him in his calf and a third went through his beret.
When a solider was trying to kill him, he said
- I am Che Guevara I am more valuable to you alive than dead.

Che’s hand and feet were tied.
Che got lock up in a school building.
With two of his old friends who now were dead.
He was in the building over the night.
Despite the fact that he was captured he didn’t say anything which could harm Fidel and Che’s plans.
Che was going to be executed
