In today’s society different is wrong for a lot of people. I think the people who have those prejudice actually are afraid of being who they really are. Maybe they would like to express their feelings but are afraid of what other may think. I think people who stand for their opinion have courage. It probably takes a lot of guts to “come out of the closet” if you’re homosexual, for example.
When I visited Greece with a friend everybody stared at me just because I’m blond. I didn’t mind since it was just my hair they stared at but if it was for some other reason I would really be hurt. Just because you’re not looking or acting like most people, does that give people the right to stare at you? I think it’s just rude and mean. You should be able to be whoever you want to be.
Sure, unfamiliar can be frightening. In the movie Ennis and Jack are afraid that someone will found out that they like each other because Ennis knows about a guy who has been beaten to death only because someone thought he was homosexual. The murderers might have been concerned about the towns’ reputation or just did it because they feel uncertain with homosexuals. I can’t believe how you could brutally murder a person just because he isn’t “normal”. It’s absurd.
This doesn’t mean you should never feel frighten. Take me for example, when I’m walking alone in the dark I feel terrified most of the time. My mother has always told me that I should be careful and don’t walk alone in the dark in case a murderer or rapist shows up. So when I have to walk alone I’m almost running because I think there’s a murderer around every corner. I one way that kind of fear is good since it makes me more careful, but it’s tough to be worried under a long period.
I think Ennis and Jack got married to different wives because that’s what everybody does. If you don''''t act like you should you’re strange and won’t be accepted. They think it’s better to go the easy way. I don’t think Ennis and Jack are ...
