Author Nora Roberts
Nora was born in Silver Spring Maryland and is the youngest of five children. She went to a Catholic school as a child and after her school career she married her first husband and settled in Keedysville, Maryland. They had two sons, Jason and Dan.
Before they were born she worked as a legal secretary and was not good at it. But than stayed home to take care of her children and in the process tried many different crafts. It was a blizzard in 1979, which would change everything because she now needed to entertain her self plus her two sons with one creative outlet.
Nora comes from a family of readers and there hasn’t been a time where she wasn’t reading or making up stories. During the now famous blizzard she took out a pencil and a notebook and started writing down one of her stories and that was how her career started. It wasn’t first in 1981 that she got a book published and it was Irish Thoroughbred, the company who published the book is Silhouette.
After that her marriage failed Nora wasn’t hunting for a new lover, but in July 1985 she married her second husband, Bruce Wilder and whom she is still married to. Nora meet him when she hired him to build some bookshelves to her house, since then they’ve expanded their home, traveled the world and opened a bookstore together.
Nora has become a member of several writers groups and has won many awards from her colleagues and the publishing industry.

Her are some fun facts:
1: There are more than 294 million copies of Nora Roberts’s books in print.
2: You could fill the seats of Giants Stadium about 4,000 times of her books that are in print.
3: Nora’s books have spent a combined 116 weeks at the number one spot on the New York Times bestseller list.
4: She was one of the first authors to use the web to communicate with her fans when she
started her site in 1996.

The Characters
The main characters in this book are Tess, Lily and Willa with their love interests Nathan, Adam and Ben.
Tess is the oldest of the three sisters and the one who hates the idea of spending more time, than she needs to at Mercy Ranch in Montana. Tess has long blonde hair, an amazing body which she has worked for since she was about fifteen years old, long legs and smart but not in the conventional way (book smart). She is a manuscript writer who lives in Hollywood, California. As a person she is the one of the three sisters who are more experiences in the area of men, sex end fell most comfortable e.g. dressing sexy and playing with a mans mind (I think she gets it from her mother, a ex-stripper, who now is a owner of a strip club).
Lily is the second daughter of Jack. I think she is the one who likes to have sisters and the idea of needing to stay at the Ranch for a full year, because she desperately needs a place to hide from her ex-husband. Lily is the one who wants to have dinner party’s, a Christmas party and is the one the other two sisters band with first. Lily has an ex-husband with the name of Jesse, who she meets when she is teaching fifth graders. Because of Jesse’s bad temper Lily divorced him but it wasn’t until she almost died. From that Lily has some issues added too what she already had before and it makes her very shy around people, especially around men. But it doesn’t change the fact that she is very good whit animals especially with horses, a caring woman who can see everything as a beautiful thing and as a hobby she likes to photograph. Lily is around 170 cm long, has brown red shoulder long hair, a tiny body, blue green eyes and a beautiful smile.
Willa is the youngest sister and the only one who grew up at Mercy Ranch, but it was only because her mother Mary Wolfchild died when she was a baby and she didn’t have any other family but her father. Besides her two half-sisters Willa has a half-brother with the name of Adam Wilfchild, from her mother’s side of the family. Willa’s childhood at the ranch wasn’t the best because Jack never was a loving father: he didn’t care what she did because it was never good enough. I think it was for the best that Jack was the way he were, because it made her strong – body and mind, think for herself, work harder and never give up at anything. Willa is around 165 cm, has light brown hair to her shoulders, a body to die for with a females curves, her skin ton is a glowing brown colour and her lips are made to be kissed (what her love interest Ben thinks). Willa is the sister with the least of experience, when it comes to men because she never really cared what they thought about her, just what her father thought. She doesn’t know how to relax and if she does, she thinks it will show everybody that she doesn’t love Mercy Ranch.

Summary
The book starts with a funeral for Jack Mercy, where the three half-sisters see each other for the first time. The sisters all inherits one third of Mercy Ranch and they must all live on Mercy for a full year and not leave for more than a week, if they want their inheritance. They all stay for three different reasons and under the year mysterious, horrifying murders on animals and humans take place. But in times of darkness there is also light and the sisters develop a special relationship with each other, find love in very unlikely places and find themselves.

Important scenes/events
There are many important scenes/events in this book for just Tess, Lily, Willa and for them as sisters. One of my favourite scenes/events is “Later, Willa would think she’d never seen anything more magical than Lily gliding across the dusty ranch road in her fairy-tale dress on the arm of the man who had become her father, toward the man who became her husband.
And as the vows were said and the promises made, she let herself forget there was anything in the air but beauty. And as the first kiss was exchanged between husband and wife and the cheers rose up she cheered along. She thought of the child and the future.
I love this scene/event because of everything that’s going on at Mercy Ranch, there is one day were everything is a beautiful thing and nothing can change that. It’s not just about Lily and Adam getting married, it’s about accepting the past, the present and the future for all the good times and bad, and just moving on.

Comments on
The language in this book is not easy and not very hard to understand, you could say somewhere in the middle, some worlds are harder to understand than others. This book was one of the harder books I have read and I liked the challenge.
The cover can look two different ways. My book cover has a blue purple colour which is very relaxing, calm and welcoming colour. The authors name (Nora Roberts) is very big letters than they usely are and they are placed in the upper part of the cover. The books name is placed in the lower part of the cover and is also in big letters, but not as big as the authors and both names are in white colour. In the left upper corner you will find a fun fact about Nora, under the authors name is what the magazine Cosmopolitan thought about the book and the two facts are in small, black letters. In the middle of t he cover you can see a little picture of the three sisters looking out over their land. In this little picture you can find many different colours, in many different shades.

My review
I think this is on of the best books I have read in this genre and that Nora Roberts has become one of my favourite authors. I love the way she describes, when one of the characters is surprised over something with “O dear god” e.g. I like the way Nora blends three romances, humor, murders...
