Carl Lee was arrested of his commitment. Jake, Carl Lee’s lawyer visited Rufus Buckley to discuss about Carl Lee’s client facing electric chair for a crime everyone knew he did. Rufus Buckley was the prosecutor and he did everything he could to win. Afterwards, the white formed their group KLAN and started threatening Jake and his family.
Carl Lee had to go in front of the jury citizens of Fond country before he could go on trial.
Harry Rex Vonner, a lawyer who specialised in nasty cases, he met with Jake to discuss about the trial’s date. An insanity defence was chosen to defend Carl Lee and he would need to be examined by a psychiatrist. Jake demanded a fair amount from Carl Lee.
Jake had no intention of dropping the case, but he had to find a psychiatrist and other professional witness. Jake had a financial problem. He started to prepare for the most important cause of his life without money in the bank, a drunkard law partner, a drunkard psychiatrist and a headache. He got another law clerk from Mississippi, Ellen Roark, a criminal law student from Oxford. Carl Lee had no money to pay for his defence, Reverend Agee, a church leader gathered some money from the congregation to help Carl Lee’s family. The juror fought one another in the courthouse, now more people died as a result of rape of Tonya Hailey.
he trial began; Buckley decided to talk about the rape instead of hiding it from the jury. The trail continues and no one has been judged for the second time. Jake was wounded and persuaded the judge to adjourn it till next twenty-four hours. The Klan members seriously hurt Ellen on her way to Oxford, they also burned Jakes house and his wife’s car. What a crazy world. The trial ends when judge Noose spoke to the jury to get organised and get busy more time to discuss and no one expected a quick decision. Carl Lee was still in the courthouse awaiting judgement. Eventually, judge Noose handed the paper to the clerk of the court to pronounce that, the jury find the defendant not guilty by the reason of insanity and Carl Lee was back to his family in good health.

However, I think the society that we live in today has changed. Although it’s still happening in some areas but not like before, when it happens openly.
Moreover this mostly happens in a country where your nature is not really welcome as a result of race discrimination. Whereby, when the mentally indispose one of them sees another race. They can hurt you or attack you with anything; neverthel...
