The Plot
This is a story about an 11 year old boy. His name is Harry Potter and he lives with his aunt Petunia Dursley, uncle Vernon Dursley and cousin Dudley Dursley in England.
When Harry was one year old, his parents were killed by a man who called himself Voldemort. Harry became an orphan and moved to the Dursley´s. Harry hates his life there. His room is a little cupboard under the stairs, his cousin teases him all the time and Mr. and Mrs. Dursley treat him like dirt. Mr. and Mrs. Dyrsley had told Harry that his parent died in car accident and that Harrys scar (it looks like a flash) is from the accident.

But one day a beetle-eyed giant of a man comes and rescues him from the Dursley´s.
His name is Hagrid and he comes from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy.
It turns out that Harry is a wizard, and that Mr. and Mrs. Dursley didn´t tell him because they hate magic. Harry´s mum, Lily, is Petunia´s sister, and Petunia hates her sister because of the magic. Their parents loves Lily precisely because she was a witch.

Hagrid takes Harry from the Dursleys, and when he gets to Hogwarts, he discovers a whole new world.
In this world his a hero! Ten years ago, the big wizard, Voldemort, ruled the world and killed many magic people and muggels (nonmagic people). Harry was the boy who “killed” Voldemort. I write “killed” because Voldemorts spirit was left. Every one in the magic world knows about him. At Hogwarts he learns to handle a magic wand, play the game Quidditch and he find many new friends and enemies.

He and his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger find out that there´s a secret at Hogwarts. A magic stone is hiding, and it´s in danger. The three friends don’t know about the stone, they just know that there´s some kind of secret.
The secret is in danger and Harry, Ron and Hermione suspect one of the teachers, and in the book can you follow the three friends as they try to prove that Snape, the suspect teacher, is the one. The book ends with a meeting. The person who tries to take the stone, Voldemort, and Harry meet alone and fight. Voldemort loses and disappears as a spirit again.

My Opinion about the Book
I love this book. It´s the first of four books about Harry Potter, and it´s both funny and sad.
He fights for good, just like Frodo in The Lord of the Rings. It´s about friendship and loyalty. It´s exciting with lots of adventure. Not just the stone, all of the books. When I first read Harry Potter I was his age, and that made it more fun because I could see myslef in him.
