I have read “Unlimited power” by Anthony Robbins.
In this book, Robbins is analysing the behavior of human and then he describes how we can change our mental condition to act in another way. He describes how our brain is working. We can learn to control our own deeds.

One of the first things he brings up is the meaning in our state of minds. Most of us human people have several of mental conditions, I bet you have discovered that.
Sometimes we feel depressed even though we don´t know the meaning of the depression. Sometimes we are very happy and sometimes we are very bored.
Haven´t you been up to a moment when you felt like you had “a bad day” and other moments when you had great days? Surely you think that these state of minds is something you just have, that you just feel in a way some days and another way some other day.
Anthony Robbins shows us in this book that you can learn how to affect these feelings, and he even shows how to do. He tells that it is important to take command over our conditions.

The difference between those who don´t succeed with reaching their goals and those who does, is the difference between those who don´t can put themselves into a condition that helps them and those who can put themselves into a condition that facilitate their strivings.
Anthony Robbins shows us in this book how to use the brain efficient and let ourselves how to decide in what condition we will be. He teaches us how to always have a “good day”, to always feel brightly and happy.

Robbins also have small exercises to do through the whole book, and if you do these several times, you finally learn how to take control over your brain.
I have done a few of those exercises and actually they slowly starts to work! I have never felt this happy, self-confident and purposefully as I have this last month.
I see things more clear and I haven´t felt depressed in a long while! Earlier I have been into deep depressions, but I haven´t had any of those since I started to read this book.

In another part of the book, Robbins describes our performance of our believes and how devastating they can be to ourselves without cause.
I bet you have heard about the Placebo-effect. If you make someone believe that a sort of medicine is the best thing for the health of this person, and that this pill has one sort of effect, this person probably will get just the same symptom as the doctor has told her, even if it was just a placebo.

He describes a medical examination where a group of patienses with bleeding gastric ulcer. One of the half of these persons got the information that they where treated by a medicine that would make them be better. The other half got the information that they where treated by a totally new medicine, and the doctors told them that they wasn´t sure of if this was giving any effect at all.

The result said that 70% of the people in the first half was better, when on the other half it was just 25% that went just as good result as the first half.
Both of these groups where treated by something that totally missed anything in medical values.
What does this means? It means that you can trick your brain!
If you say things like “I can’t do this”, you give your brain a negative signal, and it things that it can’t handle what it’s supposed to do at this moment.

If you tell yourself, when you prepare a presentation into class, that “I’m not going to make this, I’m so nervous. No I can’t do this presentation, it’s going to fail for me.” Then you tell your brain that this is the way it is. Ofcourse this presentation wouldn’t end well, this person is going to be that nervous and maybe fail with the whole thing.

Anthony Robbins shows us how to think to not have these negative thoughts. He describes a lot of ways to change our thoughts of believings to something better, and even here is it excercises you can do to learn that.

One thing that is really faschinating with this book, is one of the exercises. It shows how to get rid of unaccustomednesses, like eating fat food. When we feel peckish for eating for example a pizza, we have somewhere noticed something that reminded us about pizza. It could have been someone that mentioned the word, maybe you have smelled pizza somewhere or you have seen it on a picture.

The brain has nerve fibres that is connected to each other, and when you see, hear or feel a pizza, or the word for it, the brain connect to a feeling and a mood that we had when we ate pizza before.

Then the body automaticly starts to create enzyme and a feeling of wanting a pizza.
You can learn in the book how to couple these nerve fibres so the word or picture of a pizza will connect to a feeling of uncomfertability or a feeling of sickness.
All of my life, eating fish has been my worst nightmare, I have felt sick just by the smell of fish.
I did this exercise with fish as the thing I wanted to like, I tried to couple my nerve fibres to something good instead of thinking of a disgusting thing when I thought of fish.
For the first time in my whole life, I can eat fish without that disgusting feelings.

Anthony Robbins also takes up the physiology. By changing your physical carriage, people can see you as a totally different person than before.
One very important part of the book that I was very faschinated of was chapter ten. In this chapter, you learn to save your energy.
You learn to breathe in the right way, do you know that you can loose weight just by breathing in the right way?

You learn that the human is totally cheated by how to eat. The worse thing you can do is to mix up starchy food with protein.
Different foods are digested differently. Starchy foods like rice, bread, potatoes and so on require an alkaline digestive medium, which is initially supplied in the mouth by the enzyme ptyalin. Protein foods like meat, dairy, nuts, seeds and so on require an acid medium for digestion-hydrochloric acid and pepsin.

It´s a law of chemistry that two contrary mediums (acid and alkali) cannot work at the same time. They neutralize each other.
He also says that drinking a lot of water, as we have learned to do, isn´t that good for our bodies. Specially not at the same time you have food in your stomache. This will slow down the digestion.

Instead, we should eat our water. With this he means that 70% of the water we get into our bodies should come from food, like vegetables and fruits.
Another thing he brings up is that we eat too much protein. It´s false that we should eat that much of protein as they say we should. And drinking milk from another...
