Animal Farm by George Orwell is a fable about animals in a farm called Manor Farm. The conditions on the farm are dreadful and the animals are tired of the bad treatment from the humans, working as slaves and not getting enough food so they revolt against them! The animals chases away the humans together and slowly starts to build everything up themselves. They are strong and the thought of not having to work for someone else motivates them to work even harder!
Their efforts seems to pay off and they take one thing at the time but two pigs who are the leaders seems to aim for different goals. Napoleon, the bad pig, chases away the other pig called Snowball, and slowly he starts to change things, to the worse for the animals. The animals on the other hand are blinded with pride of being able to take care of themselves and not having to work as slaves that they can’t see what’s really happening! The ruling of Napoleon is signified of terror and executions. No animal dares to say anything against the pigs! They just accept everything that is said by Napoleon and his messengers and hopes that everything really is as they tell them.
Napoleon is now the dictator of the farm and slowly all the pigs starts to behave more like their enemies, the humans. The other animals are frightened and surprised but they convince themselves and each other that at least the conditions are better than before.

The story about the animals at the Animal Farm is exciting and surprising. It’s a good book that can appeal to many different kind of people. Some may just look for something extra ordinary to read and some may want to read a simplified and critical interpretation of Stalinism and the situa...
