Jimmy is a young guy, maybe about 18 years old. He wanted to start a band. A big band, a
Soul band. And he was lucky ‘cause on a wedding he met two old friends of his. The two guys were already in a band but they could kick the singer if they wanted to. I mean, he was bad, really bad.
Now Jimmy had a guitarist and a bassist. He wanted himself to be the manager in the band. Now he did want to find a singer too. And he was lucky again. On the same wedding there was a guy named Deco. He was drunk and went up the stage. He was a pretty good singer actually, so Jimmy asked him if he wanted to join the band. Deco joined and it showed up that he was a real asshole.
So, now there was half a band. But the drummer was missing. Jimmy did find one, I don’t remember his name, but he was good. Really good.
Of course, in a soul band there have to be two-three girls who sing back. And Jimmy’s old friend Bernie did know two girls. Nathalie and Imelda. Jimmy did find a saxophonist too. Now the band was completed, or that’s what Jimmy was thinking…
But, now Joey showed up. Joey “the lips”. He was a great player and had toured with many big artists. All the girls in the band fall in love with him and he does fuck them all.
Yeah, NOW the band was completed and they had a few gigs. But then they drummer jumped the band, just because he couldn’t stand Deco. What were they now supposed to do? I mean, it isn’t that easy to find a new drummer on just a few days. The band’s “lifeguard”, Mikey, were in. He was pretty good for being a lifeguard.
But later, after some gigs, the band did quit. They couldn’t agree with anything at all. So there were always fights with somebody. That’s sad, ‘cause they could have been great.

Uh… To be honest, I didn’t like the climate at all. It was rainy and dirty, and dark and everything. But it did match the film in someway. I don’t know how, but whatever…
Ok, here we go. The feeling in the film was happiness, sadness, darkness and a strange “Hello, I don’t know how to do”-feeling. You get it, right?
The whole big meaning of the film is “Don’t give up”. I agree, ‘cause if you give up you’ll get down somehow. And it’s better to do something then to do nothing. And if the “something” isn’t good, don’t give up. Try again. It will work.
All the characters sounded like they were like Ireland and the city, and the whole packet.
I didn’t, but maybe I should, if I was living there.

Ok, now for the characters.
Imelda was one of the girls who sang back, a pretty good singer. Everybody did like her. She was the “perfect” chick. Perfect body, perfect smile and face and everything. But of course, she did hate it. The only two things the guys were looking at were her breasts and her but. The only man who didn’t was her husband. He was a nice guy. A guy called “the dork”.
Mikey was the lifeguard, the second drummer. He had a very bad temperament and did fight with everything. Almost all the time too… Hehe, he was pretty cool actually. When he and Deco started fighting Deco felled down to the ground and he had blood all over his face.
It was after that the band quit. Sad moment…

When you’re asking for relationships between girls and guys there weren’t that big difference. In Sweden we got a pretty big difference, you see. I mean, we hot that “guys don’t hit girls” thing. I hate it. I mean, why? The girls aren’t made of glass or something. We can fight too. Even if the guys wont see it!
In Sweden we’re dorks. Fat dorks. In Ireland there wasn’t so much dork. I mean, look at the girls. All free to do exactly what they want. In Sweden there’s the family who make most of the discussions. But when we look at the difference between guys in Sweden and guys in Ireland, there are almost the same things. No big difference.

The music in the film? Perfect! I love it! It’s just great. It makes me feel happy in some way.
I don’t kn...
