Go Ask Alice, presented as the diary of an anonymous teen girl who began her career as a drug abuser when she was only 15 years old and died of an overdose just weeks after her 17th birthday. Through the diary entries we see this girl quickly increase from her first drug experience to all manner of disaster.

The books story is about a teenage girl who lives in a small town in USA. Everything is rather good and she lives a "normal" life with the usual boy troubles and such. But one day the family decides that they were going to move becuase her dad had got a better job in another, bigger city. Of course Alice gets excited and is really looking forward to it. But when she gets there it doesn’t work out that good. She doesn’t find any new friends and gets kind of depressed. Her parents are working all the time and everything seems miserable to her.

On a visit to her old town, she is invited to a party given by people she always wanted to be friends with. At the party she takes acid without her knowledge. It''''s hard to believe she was unaware of her first "trip." Yet, this was the start of the awful experiences of an innocent young girl taken in by the cruel, awful world of drugs.

During this time, she runs away, sells drugs and survives a group of druggies who are out to get her. On the road to recovery, she meets Joel at the college where her father works; he is someone who really cares about her.

T think that most teenagers can relate to her life, and, after reading it, most won''''t ever touch drugs; it''''s a strong story that effetced me very much.

The language in the book wasn’t very difficult even though there were quite a lot of slang. The words that I didn’t know (from before) were also almost only slang, but it wasn’t to much of that either.
Anyway I really recommend everybody to read this book. But you must be a li...
