The type of catastrophes that have worked best for leaders in history is depression. When the people are unhappy and tired they are easily control. Already here should you start making propaganda to present you as a strong but anyway nice leader that will bring the nation to its feet.

Controlling the food supply

Everyone on this planet needs to eat, both animals and men. So controlling the food supply and also the trade and you in practice have control over the nation. Although this power is weary fragile and will quickly bee overthrown if you do not continue to move forward. Things will go wrong. And when they do it is always better to have a enemy then to take the blame for yourself and drag your glorious leadership in the mud. When it comes too choosing your enemy, do this carefully but precise, the “Chosen one” could be either the one that ruled before you or someone that came at almost the same time as you.

Use your imagination. But whoever is chosen should be absent, he should be far away, best is in another country. This is because if the enemy is present it is easy fore the crowd to locate and destroy him.

The entire plan of this step of creating an enemy is the have someone to blame when things go wrong. And the enemy can not do anything if he’s dead, so your power requires that he, your enemy stays alive and absent.

Increasing the workload and worsening life condition
Now that you have control over your country you will realize that there will always be opposition’s ageist you. One wary clever way to get rid of most of that resistance is to make the people to work more and drag down on the living conditions. This is to stop oppositions to form now that you have taken control over the nation.

If the people are tired when they come home from work and school it is less likely for them to start any rebellion. Although you must not make a big and sudden change. Instead you should drag it out. And make small changes over a longer time so the people does not suspect what you are doing.

Create a leader myth and personality cult
You will need to create some sort of myth or personality cult to help your people to obey you. In this myth you should present yourself as a glorious leader that wiped away all the evil and has done nothing but to help the people towards a bright peaceful future. Here you should also post more and more propaganda around your nation.

Using propaganda effectively and changing history
You want the people to like you; there fore you will have to change history to erase your mistakes and faults. The way you want to do this is by burning all old media that shows you as bad and replace it whit propaganda material.

Like before this material should present you as nice and strong. A head figure that will and have brought this nation to victory. A god example on this is Napoleon the pig’s propaganda to the animals of animal farm. Where he changes the stories about the battle of the cowshed. At the same time as you glorify yourself through out history you should continue to dishonor your archenemy.

Create your own guards or army for protection
To be able to stay in power for a longer time you will need guards to protect you. Fore this you can use military units that where created during your rising and that re propped whit propaganda.
