I put in the last shirt in my suitcase and went down to the door. My mom came and kissed me on my cheek.
- Take care of you now darling, she said.
- I will mom. I promise, I answered her.
Outside the taxi honked and I opened the door and walked to the taxi. The driver went out and took my suitcase to put it in the trunk. I hugged my mother once and I climbed in. The taxi driver said hi and we were off to the airport, Landvetter.

Half an hour later, I climbed out from the seat, took my suitcase and walked inside the airport. I looked at my ticket and it said that I was late for the boarding. I checked in my suitcase and ran to the gate. I gave them my boarding card and went onboard. The trip took around 16 hours and I was very tired when I walked off the plane.
I looked after a sign where I should go, and found a man in the old 20s with a sign where it said: Miss Klintemark – Gothenburg. I walked against him and we said hello. After that we walked together to his taxi that would take me to my hotel, Coast Terrace Inn Edmonton South. My mom had found it on the net and it had 3 stars and looked very nice on the photos. I didn’t get disappointed. The hotel was large and the taxi driver, who’s name was Darryl, had taken my bag and told the receptionist that I had arrived. I was so tired when I said goodnight to Darryl and followed one of the hotel stab to my Superior room. He opened up for me and when he left, I fell asleep on the king-sized bed.

When I woke up the sun had nearly got up. I looked on the clock in the room and it said 6am. I sank back on the pillows and felt happy. The ticket to Canada and back had cost 8416:-. The hotel would cost me something around 975:- per night. I crawled forward to the TV and turned on MTV-US. It was really relaxing to watch and two hours later my stomach started to yawl. I went up, dressed on grey jeans and a black vest, took my shoes and walked to the hotel restaurant. I enjoyed the meal of US pancakes with strawberries jam, milk and cereals, two sandwiches with ham and three large glass of fresh pressed orange juice. I tasted the coffee too, but I didn’t like it.
After the lovely breakfast I ran up on my room and took a lovely shower. I had forgotten my soap so I used the hotel soap, but it smelled awful! After that, I dressed myself in pirate jeans, a red vest and my new ballerina shoes. I went out on the hotel parking and saw Darryl standing and waiting for me. He smiled when he saw me and I sat down next to him.
- Where do you want to go today, miss? Darryl asked me.
- I don’t know really. I’d like to see some attraction or visit a museum or something.
- What do you think about the Dinosaur Adventure? he said.
- Yes, that would be great! I’d love to see dinosaurs. Is it far from here?
- No, not really. Your hotel is on 4440 Gateway Boulevard, Edmonton and the museum is on street 170 Edmonton. You will find much fun to do there.

We drove to the park, and it was an amazing sight! During those five hours I took a lot of pictures. One was me in a T-rex mouth, many on different dinosaurs and one with me, Darryl and a large green dino doll. We ate lunch at a café there and had really fun. The clock was now 2pm and we returned to the hotel so I could get a nap before the night adventures. Darryl and I would go on a night club called Esmeralda’s.
The night was so fun that I knew I wouldn’t forget that on a very long time.

The two following days I did almost the same as the first one. Except that Darryl and I were in different stores those days. And I was in the gym two hours before nap. On the fourth morning on the hotel I decided to write a letter to my family. I took a pen and a paper and started to write.

Hello mom, dad and little brother!
It’s now morning here in Edmonton. The fourth one actually. I did just wake up and will soon go down for breakfast. Mom, you had right! These beds are incredible! Really king-sized as it said on the note. My taxi driver is also my new guide and friend here in Edmonton. His name is Darryl and he is 26 years old. He showed me Dinosaur Adventure, that’s a park where you walk around and you see a lot of dinosaurs! They really look alive! We have also gone on night clubs on the nights and have eaten on small and large cafés and restaurants. I do really like to be here! Today, Darryl and I will go to West Edmonton Mall and visit the Water Park! It will be great! I miss you guys so much! I will gladly come home and hug you all!

See you on the airport the 18/6 at noon!
Love // your daughter.

PS: This following is a copy from a tourist brochure about West Edmonton Mall.
“The largest shopping and entertainment centre in the world, West Edmonton Mall features over 800 stores and services and more than 110 restaurants and eateries. Attractions include Galaxy land, the world’s largest indoor amusement park; World Water park, with slides, a wave pool and a bungee jump; Deep Sea Derby, bumper cars on an indoor lake; Sea Lions Rock, with three California sea lions performing daily; and KidTropolis, a city created just for kids to learn and experience real life. The mall’s nightlife includes the Las Vegas-style Palace Casino, Ed''''s Rec Room and Jubilations Live Dinner Theatre. Open 365 days a year; hours vary for retail and attractions.”

When I was done I went down to eat breakfast. Before we went off I posted my letter to my family. The rest of the day went on like usually. We were in the water park in six hours, after that we took a three hours trip in the rest of the mall. I bought myself clothes, jewelleries and shoes. To my family I bought some tourist gifts, three t-shirts to my brother and some other things to them. We went to the hotel and I was in the gym for one hour before I hade to get up and make myself ready to the night.
The evening we spend on Rum Jungle, which lay in West Edmonton Mall. That had come to be a place that I loved.

Two days later was my last day in Edmonton. Me and Darryl had become really good friends and we took this day just to relax at the hotel. We laid at the pool and had a really nice time. When it became noon, we had got hungry so we took his normal car and drove to Upper Crust Café in 10909-86 Avenue Edmonton. We ate the upper crust sandwich and had really fun. We choose between the night club Esmeralda’s at 11830 Kingsway Avenue Edmonton, that we had been on the first night and Rum Jungle, which we had been on the rest of the nights. We decided to first drive to Esmeralda’s and look how it was. If it didn’t seem fun we would go to Rum Jungle.

The night came and we stayed on Esmeralda’s. We had very fun during the night and when it closed at 2am, we drove back to the hotel and played card on the room. Darryl went home at 5am, and I fell asleep directly. A quarter to eight I woke up and hurried to pack down all my things. I had bought a new suitcase there, and if not, I wouldn’t have get place for everything I had bought. I took my things, said good bye to the bed and went down to the reception. I left my key in the reception and sat down in the restaurant. I ate much more on this breakfast than I had done other days, because I didn’t like the food I would get on the plane. The breakfast closed at nine and I lay down next to the pool. The plane would leave 11:55am Canadian time and be home at 11:55am Swedish time. The time difference lay on 8 hours between Canada and Sweden.
I read one of my pocket books and waited for Darryl. At 10:50am I started to wonder. Darryl should have been there by 10am. I sat and looked on the parking, but he didn’t show up. At 11am, another taxi car came and a man in the older 40 came out and asked for Miss Klintemark. I understood that Darryl didn’t want to say good bye so I took my book, my suitcases and walked slowly to the car. The man presented himself as Roberto and when we had driven from the hotel he gave me a letter from Darryl.
My dearest apologizes.
I couldn’t say goodbye to you. I’m so sorry. Hope your trip back is going well. Roberto is nice, so thank him for me once again. I will not forget you and our party times! Have it nice in Sweden.
Love Darryl.

I felt sad when I had read it. I told Roberto that Darryl had written that he was grateful for driving me to the airport instead of him. When we arrived to the airport I checked in my bags, went to boarding and entered the plane.
When it left Canada I just couldn’t be sad anymore. Now I would come home to my beloved country, my family and my cats. I fell asleep not long after the take off.

Summary:
I read about Edmonton and really liked that city. I decide...
