The story begins with he is birth and his life with his mother.
Later his mother get remarried with a hard and strict gentleman, Mr Murdstone. David don’t like Mr Murdstone at all, he don’t like that his mother married him.
Mr Murdstone sent David away to a boarding school, where the most of the pupils often get beaten. David became one of them.
There he meet many other boys and one of them, Steerforth, helps’ him very much, and they become good friends.
When David’s mother dies he is sent home, he stayed there and was mourning his lost. Mr Murdstone is sending miss Peggotty away and later he also send David away. He send him to a factory, to work, washing bottles, label them and put them in wooden cases.
But after a few weeks he can’t manage any more, so he run away. He goes to his aunt miss Trotwood. His aunt welcomes him and take care of him, she send him to another school and after that he study to be a lawyer.
He meets a beautiful little girl, miss Spenlow, who he marries. But after a few years she dies.
The book ends with David getting remarried with a much better young lady named miss Wickfield and they live happy together.

David, who is the principal part in the book have never seen his father because he died six month before David was born. So all he got is his mother and their servant miss Peggotty and he love them both.
He is a tall and thin gentleman with curly hair, who cares about his friends, he helps them when they need help.
My opinion about the book is that it is a little bit short, it feels like you missing something, like you don’t get the whole story. The story is written in I-form. I think the writer, Charles Dickens, have written this book of experience from his own life and just changed the names. How he grows up, goes to a boarding school and later study to be a lawyer, but became a writer instead. The language is no...
